Trainee Personal Tax specialist: salary up to £25k basic plus bonuses

We have a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a rapidly expanding tax refund company based in Chester. We process tax refunds for the armed forces sector, security workers, mobile workers, and offshore riggers. We are looking for hard-working individuals to join our tax team. Cases can be complex, and a high degree of concentration is required.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about learning, be a real team player and want to work in a fast pace environment. You will also have good IT skills and the ability to work under pressure.

In return, full training will be provided. We will also support you in any tax qualifications you may with to progress with.

Day to day duties will include;

 

  • Preparing personal tax computations and tax returns, whilst meeting deadlines
  • Liaising directly with clients
  • Working with other departments within the practice
  • Corresponding with HMRC & Liaise with HMRC with any queries
  • Completion of self-employed accounts and schedules of income from property.
  • Demonstration of knowledge with regards to P11Ds, tax credits, tax codes, gift aid relief claims for charities
  • Assistance with preparation/completion of various other HMRC notification forms
  • Various other tasks and assistance with ad hoc project work as and when required

Office Administrator/ Customer Service £20,319 - 23k Plus Bonuses

As an office administrator/customer services advisor, your role will be to process new and existing claims and prepare fully for the accountants.

 

Role profile:

 

We have recently restructured the administration department. We have now separated this role into an administration department and a customer services department. The successful candidates will work between both departments.

 

Administration Role

 

You will start your training within this department. You will have a dedicated trainer for the first 4-6 weeks of your start date. This role will include the following:

Processing new and existing claim forms.

Chasing/dealing with new and existing customers in order to obtain relevant information via telephone, email and text.

Obtaining and sending legal agreements to HM Revenue and Customs.

Calling HM Revenue and Customs on a daily basis to obtain client Unique Taxpayers references (UTR numbers) You will be required to confirm the client’s personal information via telephone directly with HMRC, passing security guidelines.

Submitting client UTR numbers and Authorisation codes on HM Revenue and Customs agent portal on a daily basis ensuring expiry date deadlines are met efficiently.

Responding to ‘Urgent Jobs’ issued by the accountants on a daily basis for any outstanding information required. You will be obligated to contact the client for the requested information and complete all urgent jobs promptly and effectively.

Processing Amazon Vouchers daily/weekly to reward our clients for referring family/friends/work colleagues as a part of our friend referral incentive scheme.

Monitoring and responding to the company’s shared email inbox.

Keeping our customer relationship management system (CRM) up to date and all client details are as accurate as possible.

 

Customer Services

 

Responding to customer inquiries via inbound telephone calls. Providing clients with updates on the progress of their active claims with accuracy and professionalism. This can be up to 50-60 calls per day.

Responding to live chat and messenger enquiries on our website.

Once fully trained in the administration department you will then be trained in customer services. Once fully trained in both departments you will be classed as super admin and you will then be entered into the rotation. At present, the rotation is every 2 months.

 

Candidate requirements:

 

Good experience of office 365 suite preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

Knowledge of ‘HubSpot’ system is preferred but not essential.

A candidate with previous administration experience is essential, along with excellent customer service and telephone skills as you will be dealing with up to 50-60 inbound calls per day from clients. Being able to proactively make outbound calls to clients to chase documentation and give updates on their claims is also an integral part of the role.

 

A monthly bonus scheme is available based on targets hit. The tiers for the bonus start at £200.00 to £600.00 per month.

 

Full comprehensive one-on-one training will be provided for the successful candidate.

In this role, you will be working alongside a team of accountants helping with the administrative duties.

 

Role Profile

 

  • Post: Dealing with any incoming post including scanning, photocopying and shredding.
  • Calling HMRC: This will be for several reasons including requesting tax refunds to be released, requesting codes from HMRC which the accounts team need to progress the client’s claim and requesting that HMRC open tax years to be opened so they are ready for the accountants to file the client’s self-assessment.
  • Database management: We use a CRM (customer relationship management) system called HUBSPOT. We need the client’s records kept up to date on this. Full one to one training will be provided for the successful candidate.

 

Candidate requirements

 

  • Excellent and professional phone manner is essential
  • To be fully competent at using a computer and general ICT skills plus a good level experience of using office 365 including outlook and excel.

Telemarketing Executive, £20,000 basic with £30,000 OTE uncapped commission

  • Mon-Fri 9-5, no evenings or weekends however overtime is always available for weekends.
